The World of a Cover Model

I was so tickled when Jason Baca got in touch with me. Jason is the great-looking man on the cover of the Mr. Impossible audiobook. Some of you may have seen him before. What you may not know is that he's been on the cover of nearly 400 romance novels.

As you can imagine, I have a clear picture in my mind of what my heroes look like. One of the reasons I loved the original Mr. Impossible cover was, only part of the hero's face was visible, leaving it mainly to the imagination. Yet his pose beautifully captured Rupert's personality.

With the audio, the exercise was much more difficult. Several cover models appeared on my computer screen and they were all fine-looking men, but they weren't Rupert. Then came the photo of Jason. It's a different vision of Rupert—not so cocky, more romantic—but once again, leaving something to the imagination. And now, thanks to this interview with Jason, I have a better idea of why it works so well.

Readers have asked when to expect more of my books in audio format. I'm happy to report that we'll soon be scheduling with Kate Reading for the last two Carsington books:

Not Quite a Lady

Last Night's Scandal

and the two standalone books:

Your Scandalous Ways

Don't Tempt Me

We estimate that two of these will be available in November and the other two by March. I don't know which two when, but will report as soon as I get more information.

In other news—

The Carsingtons are coming digitally to the U.K., Australia, and New Zealand!

Yes, the negotiators have finished negotiating and I've received word that the first four Carsington books will be available for sale as eBooks on 3 September. In order these are:

Not Quite a Lady (Darius's story)

Audio Mr. Impossible and Lord Perfect Now On Sale

The audio editions of Mr. Impossible and Lord Perfect—the second and third books of the Carsington series—are now available for what I hope will be your listening pleasure. Once—twice, actually—again, I’m delighted to have the gifted Kate Reading as narrator.

If you’re not familiar with this series, you might want to stop by my Books Page. There you’ll find descriptions of my various series as well as links to each book’s individual page, which includes the back cover copy, excerpts, and other notes.

For visual aids, you might want to check out my Pinterest Page. Along with general historical categories, you'll see boards devoted to individual books. Not all books have their boards yet, but I am working on it as I find/make time.

You can look for reviews of these two new releases at the Audio Gals.
